Remember to use your imagination

Hello,

This week I started feeling blue about my business. This year has been a tough one. I decided at the beginning of the year, one of my To Do things would be to "up" my advertising. I placed my ad in a national magazine and on their website. My feedback has been lacking, and I have found myself trying to analyze what to do, what I need to do and where to go from here. In the midst of these thoughts, I took my two girls to a storytime at Barnes and Noble Thursday. As I walked into the store I saw a sign about a special storytime guest, Jane Bregoli, "The Goat Lady", and one of the goat lady paintings. I immediately recognized the painting.

I used to live in the Boston area, and attended the Cohassett Art Festival. I remember hearing about the goat lady and the paintings and remember seeing the paintings there. Looking at the painting one almost felt an emotional wave between the lady and goat. That there was an interaction there, perhaps unspoken.

A year or so later I was at a seminar about writing and illustrating children's books. I vaguely remebered her there talking about this goat lady.

It's been years since then.
I now live in RI and have two girls. I had to go see her. So we all went.
We got to hear her read the story and our girls enjoyed the goat they had there for petting ...And I, well I got my book signed, and we talked a little. I told her I remembered the painting and her at the seminar,(she thought I looked familiar to her too) and I told how great it was to see that she got it published. She said it took a lot of rejections before this came to be. Even Dr.Seuss got a lot of rejections before his work was published. She signed my book as follows, Remeber to use your imagination. That said I Will.
