Celebrating Moms

Celebrating My Mom

One of the things that stands out about my mom is the way she always encouraged me to be “Myself”.
I was a shy child. I was quiet and sometimes got tease by the other children. My mom always tired to explain perhaps why they did and pressed me to just be myself.
When I decided to follow my talents and become an artist and go to art school, she was right there behind me.
When I got nervous about mid-terms or finals she always had some no nonsense words of encouragement.
And she was proud when I started my art biz part-time.
I started with cards and postcards and attended craft fairs. A few years later I met my hubby and married. I added t-shirts to my inventory and got some businesses to buy them. I continue on with my small business today.
In 2002, I became a “Mom”. I have two beautiful girls.
I plan to pass on what she has taught me about being “Who I Am” to them.

“Cheers” Mom

Parting is such sweet sorrow

My husband’s step-Mom passed away recently. Her memorial service was this past Sunday.
Nancy Dubie-Guarino was a Mom, Grandma and a great business woman.
I met her the first time at her annual Christmas eve party in 1993.
She was a woman filled with a huge heart and open arms.
Her energy could light up any room.
She was there to encourage us and help us when needed.
She had a great business mind.
She had a great sense of humor.
And she always had a Hug for someone.

Share a hug with someone today.

Feature ART/Product

"Mare and Foal"
Pen and Ink

I loved to be around the barn and horses. I used to take riding lessons at a barn in Berkley MA. They had a breeding stallion. It was exciting when foal season came around. Everyone anticipated the arrival of the new foals. One dear horse I rode, "Missy", had a couple of foals during the years I rode there. I had found Missy to be a great horse and also a good horsey friend. I saw and got to visit her and her baby. She let me visit and pet her and her baby. She seemed to trust I wouldn't hurt her or her baby. I got a number of pictures of her with her baby out in the carrol. It was wonderful watching them run and play and just relax.

"Mare and Foal" are avaiable in cards and tile coasters.
