Happy Spring
It's great to see so many signs of spring, even if here in the northeast it doesn't always feel like it. We had a few crocuses (first flowers of spring) appear early on. Then recently I've noticed many green leaves of daffodils coming forth.
In February I chose some sunflower seeds and started them indoors. I chose sunflowers because my oldest daughter loves the color yellow. Our girls have been enjoying watching them grow. I had to recently move the young sprouts to a bigger pot. As soon as it warms a little more I'll try placing them outside. I'm looking forward to adding to and watching what flowers come up this spring in our flower garden.
You never know what life will sprout.
Here's a story of a mixed bag of blessings.
"A mixed bag of Blessings"
I came upon a project that was a mixed bag of blessings.
One blessing was a creative challenge.
As an artist it’s hard to resist a creative challenge. After all there is always some inner growth that comes from such challenges.
In college I enjoyed stretching my creative muscles. Then once out of college, I found those few creative challenges to meet on my own terms. One such project was working on the theatrical production of “EQUUS” with a local theater company. My challenge was to create a logo and “horse masks”. I created a wonderful logo and collaborated with another person in creating these wire horse masks. It was awesome to see the performance on stage and see my horse masks as part of this production (

A recent challenge was to paint a painting on a pre-painted panel. The creative juices were flowing. Creative challenges can really create “a powerful flow of creativity”.
When you mind is open, thoughts and ideas can come flooding in.
Second blessing was Intuition.
We all have that gut feeling and “little voice inside” helping guide us, yet sometimes we don’t listen. We sometimes don’t ask the questions we need to. But once realized and followed thru we can see much clearer. We can take the path that most resonates within ourselves. Intuition is a “great guide” within us.
Listen closely to your heart and inner voice and search for the challenges that will create growth inside and out.
Feature Art/product
"Jumper" portrays the excitement of watching a horse and rider manipulate a jumper course consisting of many different jumps, big and small. I have gone to some jumping shows and envied the courage and strength shown in horse and rider.
Jumper image is avaiable on t-shirts.

Soldier Portraits
Darla Dixon organized a group of artists who will create no-charge compassionate portraits for the families who have lost a loved one in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom.
